Mike Flynn (Baseball & Softball - Hitting/Pitching/Defense)

The Cages Training Facility is owned and operated by Mike Flynn from Arizona. Coach Flynn played baseball at Arcadia High School and Scottsdale Community College, both of which were ranked #1 in the nation. Since he played in the JUCO World Series, he has coached several teams that have won several local and national championships.

Still playing today, 43 years later, Coach Flynn has taken his love for baseball and made it his full-time passion. Coach Flynn has worked with players aged 4-18 for the last 17 years. Using techniques developed over many years, he makes techniques easy to understand for both players and parents. 

Coach Flynn combines physical and mental approaches to instill a solid, fundamental understanding of baseball and softball that his students will use for as long as they play the game.

Bob Gunnarsson (Pitching/Hitting)

Bob Gunnarsson is a former player with the Seattle Mariners who now coaches pitching and hitting at The Cages Training Facility. He set the high school record in Arizona for strikeouts, was All-State his junior and senior year, and even attained All-American status. He has also played and coached at USC.

During his career, Bob worked with numerous Hall of Fame baseball players such as Randy Johnson, Jack Del Rio, Omar Visquel, Mark McGwire, Tony Gwynn, and many more.

Coach Gunnar says, "I was very blessed to work with these great baseball players and am thankful for being so lucky. I can only hope to share my insight with all students who wish to learn."

With over 23 years of experience working with young players, he has helped hundreds of athletes at college and professional levels. He has also worked with more international students than many other coaches. 

While he remains an avid student of the game, Coach Gunnar has also been a Math and Science teacher for over 15 years. With a clear understanding of the learning process, he also has a vast background in entertainment and has worked with many professional entertainers and television stars. 

He says, "All baseball players are pitchers, and all need to work on throwing techniques to improve their game. This is a major factor in WINNING at all levels!"
